L&L: INVISIBLE SAFETY NET FOR STUDENTS IN NEED
Wednesday, September 9
12:30 - 1:20 pm
Location: Northwestern Room, 345 IMU

The Early-Intervention Team (EIT) was established in fall 2011 to ensure that students received coordinated university resources and support when they were facing multiple concerns  including physical and mental health, personal problems, academic and financial issues. With members in both Academic Affairs and Student Life, join us to learn how the EIT can support you in your work with students.

L&L: UI'S EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Wednesday, October 21
12:30 - 1:20 pm
Location: Northwestern Room, 345 IMU

Experiential education is a high impact practice because students are engaged in purposeful activities, develop significant relationships, and receive feedback. Join representatives from the Pomerantz Career Center, Center for Student Involvement & Leadership, and the UI STEP program to hear about the learning opportunities on UI campus through internships, service-learning, and on-campus employment.  Jamie Cavey will also be on hand to share experiential education data from post-graduate placement surveys.

L&L: CONNECTING STUDENTS WITH ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Wednesday, November 11
12:30 - 1:20 pm
Location: Northwestern Room, 345 IMU

According to Mapworks survey data, 91% of first-year students are certain they can do well in their most difficult course and yet, only 17% have talked to the instructor in that course. Join representatives from Academic Support & Retention to discuss ways in which we can foster positive academic student behaviors. We will discuss academic support options on campus that are available for undergraduate students and how we can help your office or department connect students to academic resources.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Academic Support & Retention at 319-335-1497.
