Countdown to College

Old capitol building at dusk

Welcome to the Hawkeye family! Starting college is an exciting time, but it can also feel a little bit overwhelming. Here at the University of Iowa, we want to help students feel as prepared as possible for their college career. That's where Countdown to College comes in!

Countdown to College is a brand-new program designed to support approximately 100 new first year students in their transition to the University of Iowa. During this two and 1/2 day program, participants are enrolled in a 1 credit hour seminar where they learn skills necessary for success in college and begin to build relationships with their new classmates. In addition, each student is part of a small group led by a peer mentor

RSVP for Countdown to College 2021 is now closed.
Countdown to College 2022 RSVP open date (tba) will be in summer 2022.
